What happens when a Southern girl moves to New York? Craziness, that’s what. Join me as I write about adventures, shenanigans, learning moments, the good times and the bad times, food obsessions, and God’s grace throughout.

I work as the Director of Community Outreach at a local non-profit in Queens, teaching English as a Second Language, leading conversation groups, mobilizing outreach events, and empowering immigrants in our local community to accomplish their dreams. Mostly, I find myself learning from them, soaking up their stories and wisdom, and I love every second.

When I’m not working at the center, I’m either checking out an arts event in the city, improving my new Bengali language skills (say a prayer), reading novels on the Subway (#thatcommutinglife), or sharing life with dear friends over cups of coffee.

Thanks for stopping by – hope these ridiculous posts make you smile.

Go Gamecocks!
